Thick nights thunder with your crew
Everyone is outside

Bugs make a racket in the park
If you listen passing by

Sleeping calmly in the back
Waking, watching bridges

A siren made my heart ache
Thoughts made still by pictures

Not much to say about this. Just wanted to share what I saw around 8pm tonight.

Sunset Santa Monica Beach

Today was another gorgeous day, and I had to get out into it before the grind on Monday; so I set off on foot the way I like to.

I walked on the sand from the Santa Monica pier down to the Venice pier, and back again. It was driving me crazy that I didn't know how far I had walked or how far I had to go back because I'm so used to counting blocks, but I did a little map work when I got home and estimated the entire walk to be about 6 miles, or if that measurement doesn't mean anything to you its about 120 blocks. 120 blocks on sand which is a little different than pavement.

The sun was perfect, the water was warm enough to swim in all day, and I loved the feeling of it washing over my feet as I walked south towards the Venice pier.

I took a nap on the beach for about 30 minutes at one point, and I felt so relaxed.

I learned how to fish here from a fisherman that I spoke with for a while, but now I have to figure out how to catch softshell crab for bait.

There were dozens of dolphins swimming around in the ocean only 100 yards or so off the beach.

I'm pretty taken with this place right now, and it feels great to have so much new around.

Had some technical problems with my web server, and it was down for a few days. As a result I've also had a few problems with this blogging software, and if you've posted a comment within the last few days its been deleted. Re-post your comments if you can, or send me some mail.

After pretty much my entire life in New York or the immediate area about three weeks ago I packed up a few bags, and drove out of Brooklyn heading west. It's been a thought in my mind for a long time to move out to California, and when I was frustrated in high school and college I used to think about driving west to start new.

I came out here to work for Yahoo! Music, and I'm one of those people who can't reveal the details of the work. What I can say is that the project hits me right at home, and I'm very proud to be working on it.

If I haven't said good-bye to you or even hello to those who I know that live out here I apologize, but it's nothing personal. Just a little overwhelmed being a New Yorker in L.A.
