strollin
Today was another gorgeous day, and I had to get out into it before the grind on Monday; so I set off on foot the way I like to.
I walked on the sand from the Santa Monica pier down to the Venice pier, and back again. It was driving me crazy that I didn't know how far I had walked or how far I had to go back because I'm so used to counting blocks, but I did a little map work when I got home and estimated the entire walk to be about 6 miles, or if that measurement doesn't mean anything to you its about 120 blocks. 120 blocks on sand which is a little different than pavement.

The sun was perfect, the water was warm enough to swim in all day, and I loved the feeling of it washing over my feet as I walked south towards the Venice pier.
I took a nap on the beach for about 30 minutes at one point, and I felt so relaxed.
I learned how to fish here from a fisherman that I spoke with for a while, but now I have to figure out how to catch softshell crab for bait.
There were dozens of dolphins swimming around in the ocean only 100 yards or so off the beach.
I'm pretty taken with this place right now, and it feels great to have so much new around.
