broken dream

A little over two years ago I found a structure in Brooklyn that filled my body with inspiration:

A year after that the building caught on fire and my heart was broken:

Since the building caught on fire Brooklyn officials ordered the residents out of the house, and threatened to take down the building:

Chris Wood the son of Cynthia and Arthur Wood has appealed to the community, and the city to help his parents dream live:

Andy Hawkins made a short film about broken angel, and showed some of the family's work in a gallery which proceeds of would go to help restore the building:

Chris Wood's latest update was from July of this year:

I have since moved from NY to the other coast, but I am home for three weeks at the end of the year. I am planning on visiting the site, and snapping some more photo's.

For some reason this project really touches me, and I hate to see the dream dying.

Follow Chris Wood's flickr blog for more updates.
